Sydney is a Partner on Andreessen Horowitz’s (a16z) Government Affairs Team, where she leads the firm’s Senate Democratic program.
She began her career in D.C. in 2012 as a Legislative Assistant for the Senate Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Communications, Technology, and the Internet under Chairman John D. Rockefeller IV. After Senator Rockefeller’s retirement, Sydney spent four years as Senior Legislative Counsel to Senator Gary Peters (D-MI), where she led his legislative efforts on tech, telecom, transportation, aviation, consumer protection, and science policy. In 2019, Sydney transitioned to a federal lobbying role when she joined Meta’s U.S. Policy Team. There, she led the company’s engagement with Senate Democrats across several key committees, including Commerce, Judiciary, Homeland Security, and Intelligence.
Sydney holds a B.A. in English from Sewanee: The University of the South and a J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law.
