Sagar is a Senior Member of Technical Staff at a16z crypto, focusing on protocol design and scalability where he brings his expertise in distributed computing and infrastructure through innovative engineering solutions.
Prior to joining a16z crypto, Sagar was an Engineer at Apple, where he was an original contributor to the Matter IoT Protocol. Before his tenure at Apple, he was an early engineer at Solana Labs, primarily working on the development of Solana’s Gossip and Turbine technologies, crucial for network communication and block distribution. Sagar holds a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His career spans over a decade, with significant roles and open source contributions at Qualcomm, Solana Labs, and Apple.
In his free time, Sagar is an avid amateur road racer, participating in events across the country driving Porsches and BMWs.
