Jane Lippencott is a partner on the a16z crypto investment team, where her areas of focus include web3 media/NFT, decentralized social/communications, wallet, and DAO investments. She views decentralized, community-owned networks as a powerful tool for enabling technical creativity and individual empowerment on the internet.

Jane went down the crypto rabbit-hole as a high school student while researching retail privacy tools in the context of political governance and was a founding team member of an early privacy coin called ZenCash. Prior to joining Andreessen Horowitz, Jane began her career in venture capital by leading investments in DeFi and decentralized infrastructure at Winklevoss Capital and Distributed Global.

Jane grew up as an expat, living in Hong Kong, New York, Pittsburgh, Bangkok, and Virginia.
