Artist

Emily Xie is a visual artist based in New York City who uses code and computation to craft intricate textures and forms. She draws inspiration from traditional materials like textiles, collage, and wallpaper. Her digital work examines the interplay between tradition and modernity while weaving together themes of mythology, memory, and cultural heritage.
Xie’s works have been collected and recognized internationally. Most recently, she has shown her works at the United Nations Headquarters, the Museum of Art and Light, Singapore ArtScience Museum, Untitled Art Fair, Kunsthalle Zürich, Unit London, and the Armory Show. Before dedicating herself to art, Xie built a career as a software engineer. She pursued her formal studies at Harvard University, where she earned a bachelor’s in History of Art and Architecture, and a master’s in Computational Science and Engineering.
